Cheboygan Long Lake Area Association Board
Spring 2016 Update

Winter at Long Lake this year has been comparatively mild but long. We had our last snow on May 15 and more snow in April than we did in January. That’s finally over, and it’s time to prepare for summer. We have scheduled our annual meeting for Saturday, June 25 at the Aloha Township Hall beginning at 8:30 AM. Coffee, donuts, and cookies will be available at 8:00 AM.

A report on last year’s milfoil treatment of Long Lake will be made as well as a review of this year’s survey of the lake by Progressive AE. That is scheduled for June 9 with a follow up treatment by PLM the week of June 13. In addition, the meeting will include the regular meeting minutes from 2015, the treasurer’s report, the election of officers and area representatives, and directions for the fourth of July boat parade around the lake.

2016 membership dues of $20.00 can be made at the meeting or be sent to Barbara Hall, Treasurer at 5104 Paradise Trail, Cheboygan, MI 49721. Checks should be made out to Cheboygan Long Lake Area Association or CLLAA.For those of you who have not been to the lake recently, you need to know that highway

M-33 between Long Lake Road and M-27 is undergoing extensive repair and replacement. We are glad to see this action since the state of Michigan’s past activity has been limited to filling potholes and posting signs saying “ROUGH ROAD AHEAD”. Current impact of this construction, however, is to make travel on M-33 even rougher, and in some areas interrupted or rerouted. Be prepared!

If you have any other topics or issues you would like to see addressed at the meeting, contact David Warriner, association president, by email at [email protected], by phone at 231-625-2907, or by “snail mail” at 4797 Hiawatha Drive 49721. Looking forward to seeing many of you on June 25.
